  JWs required to report medical information to elders

  there was an article, i believe in the awake!, that talks about a hypothetical medical worker who in a hypothetical situation comes to find out that a jw has accepted a medical procedure that is not accepted by the wts.

  this hypothetical worker must decide where or not she will report the hypothetical violation to the elders.

  does anyone recall where i can find this article?

  Well this is along the same lines..what of those that may have HIV?
  Or something contagious?
  I wonder what they would do?

  I read somewhere recently that the Magazines had an article about If you should tell your congregation if you have something like this..
  then it went on to say a loving christian would not expose whatever he had to other JW's..in other words..stay away leper!

  Anyone have info on this?

  ps..When hubby was in the hospital..the "The laison Committee" couldn't get there fast enough to make sure he didn't take blood. Talked to the Drs. and nurses first..
  Then they came to see him. Course once the threat was gone..never saw them again..Hubby could have used their support and prayers as he was a faithful JW who wanted them to cisit so bad..

  They wanted me to sign some legal document of theirs saying I would not give him blood..I refused! Told them I could not promise what I would do if it was a matter of life or death..

  I remember a JW tech was hired to do an ultrasound on my heart me one time..since I have had high blood pressure in the past I have one done every year. She started making comments ..you know how they are..and I said are you a JW?..she said Yes..how did you know?Are you one?

  I said I hadn't been for sometime..she went on and on for sometime about how close we were etc. I could just feel my blood rushing..not a good time to meet a witness..
  And she kept saying over and over.."This is fate..This is fate!"..Scared the hell out of me..I thought I was going to die or something!
  She meant she thought Jehovah had sent her to "Save" me and get me back to the hall...

  I was really afraid when I had to go for the results..turned out it was OK but I told the Dr. Don't ever sent her again!!!!! and he didn't..I think he even stopped using that agency..

  what has the watchtower really done for this world?

  i would really like to know the answer to this question--after me beeing in there for 32 years i still dont know what they have done to better the world---they leave as fast as they come in--if it was so great in the watchtower why did they leave?

  there are only 6 million jws in the world--there is 6 billion in the world--all i have seen is a bunch of people like zombies---their answer to everything is field service----never call on a person that has doubts--maybe in a year they might call on that person--they rather knock on not at homes--looks better on the time sheet-it took 32 years to find out i wasted my time--too late now--sixty nine and counting--thanks for letting me share--the hag

  Provided novelty reading material in the bathroom that you didn't mind putting down when you were done!..

  I wonder if the good little JW women still bring a free lunch to those hard working little bees?

  That was our job when I was going..plus taking others to Drs. appointments, meeting, out in service, etc. because they needed help..
  babysitting, helping clean their house for them when they were sick, ironing the brothers shirts because their wives had arthritis..Doing their hair before they went out in service because they just couldn't do it as good...(sisters)..need I go on?

  Boy..did I score some brownie points or what...never got an Elders title though!..

  I think we should get equal 'Brownie points..don't you?

  What's strange in this day and age is that the women when I was a JW usually picked up a lot of the group for service..did all the leg work..went to the meeting for field service..then..

  The Man gives the little pep talk (or a woman with a hankie or scot towel on her head.).says a prayer.. then the Man leaves..

  The Man..has something else to do. So the woman again leads the group out in service..organizes territory..makes sure all are accounted for. (We took coffee breaks but we made sure to say something about Jehovah when we stopped so we could keep counting time) At the end takes some on Back calls..and takes some of the group back to their homes.

  Later ..a man goes up to the Man ..pats him on the back..and says..I heard YOU had a good turnout for service this morning..
  Other Man says..yes I did and sticks his chest out!...

  Women don't even get an honerable mention...we invisible...

  While the Man is made an Elder...

  Who probably has his Woman to thank for that!

  anyone play guitar?

  i just got one and i learn a few chords, but im having trouble switching between them fast and my fingers hurt a little, when can i start getting caluses and should i rest my fingers?

  Well I don't play..I just pick..but hubby could play..even tho he never could read notes..

  The only notes I remember was taught at music in school..The teacher always taught us to remember notes this way..

  Every Good Boy Does Fine...egbdf...Never remembered where the chord was but remembered the sentence...

  DOO-DAH..Snoozy...

  Who was more interested in the "Bad Boy in the back of the class with the cool leather jacket!...

  Regarding Maturity.......

  i was reading a post by ip_sec and he mentioned "maturity"..it just so happened i found a interesting jw site and was reading some of their posts... i noticed one of the poster's was talking about maturity and what it was.

  he quoted an article from the watchtower dtd 9/1/96 pg 22... and i quote:to grow to maturity, we have to use our own perceptive powers, not always relying on someone else to give us the answers.

  i thought this was a pretty good thought..but unlike the wtbts... the first word i thought of when reading this quote was..what's the word i'm looking for.....oh yeah... hypocrites!.

  Why don't JW's list THEIR invitation?

  i always wondered why the jw religion doesn't list their location and invitation to their meetings in the local "church and worship places section of our paper?.

  i was told when i was a jw that it is because they are no part of "babylon the great".

  i settled for that.. .

  I was told when I was a JW that it is because they are no part of "Babylon the great". I settled for that.

  I just read a post where someone said in the beginning of their religion..they didn't want to be referred to as a religion..because it was linked to "Organized religion" and they were no part of that. (Bible is supposed to condemn organized religion..)

  My question is this...what happened?

  Seems to me they are taking every benefit of a religion..Government ..and tax wise..

  And how can they deny they are truly an "Organized Religion?"

  What would happen if a EX- JW went to a convention..we use to have to wear name tags...they handed them out at our KH..do they still do that?

  Couldn't you just walk in and sit down?
  Or do they "Check you in when entering?"
  What is the security like?

  i was looking through one of them baby name books, and looked up my name scott to see what its meaning is, i got.

  scott "meaning of scotland" ........ how boring is that!

  i would have prefered "mighty one" or "handsome stud" or something........... still "of scotland" it is...... what about yours?
